CUBA COMMITMENT
Updates:
I cannot begin to explain all the blessings much less updates we have had, God has been so good to us. Thank you for praying. Not too much can be given right at this moment via e-mail about the recent trip one of our missionaries took into the country. He did face some struggles and we do desire your prayers for wisdom for his Church and ours as we communicate what needs to be done next in our commitment. If you have received the DVD or mail from us, these action plans are still on our heart and in the front of our thoughts. Wisdom must be given at these times. Thanks be to God for the promise in HIS word in James 1:5 which states… “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” Please pray for us as we pray for ourselves that God will do exactly what HE says HE is willing to do. Below is some answers to why this email has been delayed and why we are asking for wisdom.
Information:
Without a doubt we have an obligation as Christians to be honest with our Government and to those around us at all times. The Bible is very specific about our behavior and testimony in the communities we live and to the people we minister. Knowing this, it is with a heavy heart I write you and inform you of some information you must know and hopefully will recognize as needful. I have spent the last 5 years looking into various ways in which our Commitment could be broadened for the possibilities of open doors to
Cuba
. During my investigation we have as a Church along with several missionaries to whom we cooperate have proposed narrowed actions that we feel is God’s will for us to move into. God has blessed, and continues to do so, on a daily basis. Some of our investigations have been eye opening and some very disappointing all the time knowing it was God opening and shutting doors. Recently we have moved into actions with an NGO and proposed to be “prepared” or “ready” as Romans 1:15 states so clearly. This may deem us prepared for whatever door God may open to us for Global Impact.
Cuba
is our fervent burden, but as we have striven to prepare, we have noticed that with the global market getting closer and smaller, we are able to work in literally any country of our choosing, as long as God opens a door unto us. In light of this my investigation has turned up laws to which our government has always had, but is now being enforced more heavily because of the threat of terrorism on our nation. Borders, ships, and nationals are being watched more each day. Licenses are available to ship to any country in the World, travel to any country, even control countries by our
US
embargoes. We have investigated how to obtain those licenses and looked into how to comply with the
US
laws as good Christian citizens should without compromising our standards on the Bible and souls. We have found that if we do comply, we will be able to open doors of opportunity on this side of the foreign-mission field as never done before. This will enable us to move into action immediately when a door effectual is opened unto us, and to do so legally with our
US
government. I must tell you how this is already playing out in our own minds and hearts… Raul Castro within the last two weeks reported to say that he is “ready to talk about free trade and relationship building with the
US
”. This is incredible! Unconceivable! I pray you drop to your knees, doors may be opening and we need to finish our preparation… now! Neither I nor you can know what all of this means in the statement he has made, nor why his brother is not saying anything at all. I do know though and can affirm it by many others here at our Church that God is on the move and the Lord of the Harvest is working even as this email is being read by you. What will you do with this information?
Prayer Request:
Pray this week as I conference with one of the missionaries to whom our Commitment is cooperating and see which way we need to head in some specific areas in
Cuba
.
