CUBA COMMITMENT
Praise
the Lord for the laborers He has called to help in this endeavor. Many people have committed to helping
us. One such Church is Marion Baptist Church, they are printing response cards. Another is Galilean Baptist Church in Houma, LA.
They are also printing for Cuba.
Our thankfulness in prayers seems to be a lost thought today
though. Please remember to thank the
Lord for these that are working so hard for souls they do not know. Warren Wiersby
illustrated this problem of thankfulness in his commentary on Colossians. He told about a ministerial student in Evanston, Illinois, who was part of a life-saving
squad. In 1860, a ship went aground on
the shore of Lake Michigan near Evanston, and Edward Spencer waded again and
again into the frigid waters to rescue 17 passengers. In the process, his health was permanently
damaged. Some years later at his
funeral, it was noted that not one of the people he rescued ever thanked
him. Let us remember the whole point to
our commitment is because of a Savior.
Without this knowledge our efforts would be futile and obsolete. Without His saving and without His commission
we would be just like those Cubans wondering if there is something bigger than
myself that cares about me. We have been
in contact with Cuban men here in the states for a while. Brother Bruce Martin our missionary has been
growing a relationship with these men to see what the Lord may have for our
paths together. Please pray that the
Lord will give Brother Bruce wisdom and lead us to the right men to work with. And remember –Thank the Lord!
Thank you
for praying.
