CUBA COMMITMENT
This is a very
special week for me personally. Lanee’
(my wife) and I will be having our second baby tomorrow – the Lord
willing. I have been so encouraged this
last week for ministry in Cuba. We had
a guest Pastor to preach our final week of Missions conference month here at
Metropolitan. In his sermon he
mentioned Moses and his call from God to do great things. The relation was given to our mission
emphasis on “closed countries” and other major outreach we have. As I read the text a verse came to mind; “And
Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should
bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?” Exodus 3:11 This
challenged me to think of the many prayer requests that have been made, the
many men that would like to go, and the countless efforts that have already
been made for Cuban people.
What an
exciting ministry to be in. But please
understand that this ministry is not for the faint of heart, it is for the man
or women that God has called to endure many things so that these people will
hear the gospel and be trained. I
believe that we should question our motives and ask the same question…“Who am I
that I should come before your throne and seek your face for these
people?” Because we are called to go –
go on our knees!
Please
pray for laborers to be called out here in the US to go; and for laborers to
be called in Cuba. Pray that they
will be able to be trained effectively and that we will have opportunity to
encourage them in any way. Finally
pray that God will show you what you are to do specifically for HIM in Cuba.
