CUBA COMMITMENT

Updates:

A Latin American Brother of ours from Central America returned safely from Cuba and had great results. The details of his trip cannot be released as of yet via email, but you may obtain them if you call the Church office and request a written report of his trip. Basically his trip was a success, souls were saved and some Cubans surrendered to Missions. This is exactly what we have been praying for, that National Men from Latin America will make an inroad with the Cubans and therefore be more effective than we Americans on the ground. Please continue to pray for Wisdom as we conduct more trips this New Year and supply the needs of more National men within Latin America . Another trip is in the final planning stages now and ear marked for the first of February. Two men from another Latin American country will travel with our Missionary to Cuba via our Treasury Department License. The Missionary will meet them and travel in and through the island together. The final plans will be made shortly and we request again that you pray for these and their travel. As reported earlier in several ways, our boat Emmanuel will set sail later this month for Mexico , there it will dock and be tested for several weeks. After paperwork is finalized with the Treasury and Commerce departments we will have passage through an NGO to take travel to and from the Island . Much must be worked out now that we are closer to this opportunity. Prayer is essential for our success. Please pray much for this endeavor, we must use wisdom at every juncture.

Information:

There have been some interesting developments I feel necessary to inform you, the prayer warriors, of. Through many investigations into the possible avenues to Cuba we have found that our position as a Baptist on the front line is one of intrinsic value and therefore a position of attack from our enemy. You must understand that Satan hates our advances against his kingdom. He will do anything in his power to sift us and if possible destroy us. We must engage our enemy where it hurts but understand while doing so he will do the same to us. It has come to our attention that many Churches have falsely achieved success in Cuba , whether it is by paying off the national for a hireling’s wage, or it by illegally traveling to Cuba knowing there are laws and sanctions from our Government they are stepping on. In either case our testimony is at stake. It is our duty to do the right thing as Christians and abide by the laws of the land, so long as they do not stop the flow of the Gospel and the call of God on a Church. The laws in place now in the US Treasury and Commerce Departments are put there to help us craft an appropriate plan of action without endangering our Churches to audits and more than necessary public scrutiny. I will be releasing a draft of all findings from the investigations we have made into the Treasury and Commerce Departments in relation to travel, money transactions, and trade with Cuba . Several things we will need you to pray about and support as time goes along. This draft will be in form of our next mail out. Please feel free to call if you have any questions concerning this topic.

The other development I would like to share is lengthy, so I will be brief and follow up this email with another to give you the specifics. Through much reading, as I am convinced you all know, Fidel is not at his best. The associated press has leaked and printed several drafts concerning the ailing communist leaders’ health. One report from his son in Chile states that he is on the rebound. Another report clearly describes by his doctor of Spain that Castro’s health is near death and terminal at best. Propaganda…who said the Cold War was over? Please pray for God to sort out the unclear reports for us. HE knows the truth and can prepare us for a strategic victory against the darkness, but we need your prayers for that to happen. Several scenarios are possible if Castro were to pass away, I will be releasing those soon for your consideration and prayer. No matter the outcome God can grant victory to us if we are faithful. Please help by praying!
