CUBA COMMITMENT
I informed you last week of plans to visit Cuba twice this year.
Our first trip in sudden and needs a lot of prayer. Brother Tom Gaudet and
I will be traveling to Cuba this week in hopes to
investigate ports and the “Isla De La Juventud” which is directly south of Havana off of the coast.
There have been numerous reports as to no active involvement of Baptist on the
island, so we will be there for the weekend. The following days next week
we will explore possibilities at the ports in Havana. We have two 40
foot containers here at our Church and one 20 foot container in Belton, Texas. Many other
materials can be funneled into the country if we knew how to do it
properly. In one of our containers we are storing 8 printing presses with
some workable print shop set up’s. This will be advantageous for the
Cuban pastors to print their own material on if could only get it to
them. Do not get discouraged and look at things as if “we can’t”, or “it
has never been done before”. It has been done before and I believe that
God will open doors and make a way for materials and presses to enter the
country.
Specific prayer is the key to specific answers.
Or, “ye have not, because ye ask not” as
James 4:2 states. There is also another vital part of prayer we must not
forget, “agreement”. Agreeing in prayer is very powerful. Matthew
18:19 says, “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on
earth as touching any thing that they shall ask it shall be done for them of my
Father which is in heaven.” This week use this prayer list and let us
come into agreement in prayer to pray specifically for these obstacles in our
commitment to Cuba.
Please pray:
God to blind the officials to our overall plans
The Lord of the Harvest to raise indigenous laborers in the
ports and the “Isla De La Juventud”.
For our safety in traveling
That doors will widely open in the ports
We will see opportunities we have not planned for
For contacts that will not leak information
Wisdom for Brother Tom and I
Discernment for Brother Tom and I
That God will comfort our families
Souls will eventually be saved because of our efforts
Until every Cuban here’s the Gospel, let us pray!
