Dear Bro. Travis,
I received your letter after just having talked with one of our friends on the island. He informed me of the following:
They are reporting over 30,000 homes destroyed, 200,000 houses damaged from IKE, etc, much flooding and all the reserviors are full to over-flowing (all water needs to be boiled in order to avoid epidemics), much of the crops have been destroyed, and the economy of the entire country is in bad condition.
I asked what we could do aside from praying for them and he replied that if there was a way we could send canned food that he knew that it would be a big help. I am not sure how to accomplish that, but I do know, based on what he said, that we are talking about needs existing not just for the present, but for sometime to come.
